Born 1951 in Altus, Oklahoma to John and Marjorie Coburn

Two sisters – Barbara Coburn Ross and the late Sharon Coburn Wetz

Moved to Muskogee 1960 for his Dad to become involved with Coburn Optical

Attended Longfellow Elementary, West Jr. High and Central High School

Graduated from Central High in 1970

Attended Northeastern State College and Connors State College, Associates Degree in Business Administration

Married Gwen Emmons on May 29, 1971 – married for 40 years

Bob has two children and 4 grandchildren:
Jami and Wayne Divelbiss, Charlie and Carter, Muskogee, OK
Joey and Mindy Coburn, Cate and Rhett, Keller, TX

Lived and worked in Virginia and Arkansas with Coburn Optical for 10 years

Returned to Muskogee in 1983 and purchased The Formal Shop dba Coburn’s Tuxedos

Eventually involved in managing Coburn’s men’s and ladies’ clothing, Honor Heights Plaza Shopping Center and partial conversion to Plaza Medical Center, Grandview Shopping Center and other commercial property, as well as, residential rental property

Purchased two locations of JRC Self Storage dba A-Avanti Self Storage in 1998, added Legacy Self Storage in Wagoner and Muskogee in 2009

Attends First Baptist Church where he is a Bible Study Leader, deacon, chairman of the Property & Space Team and member of the Church Council. Past service includes Finance Committee, Personnel Committee and leadership for a $2 million renovation project

Served on Muskogee City Council 2 years, MCCOYS Board of Directors, Chairman of Investment Committee of Muskogee Foundation, Muskogee Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Tourism Committee, and Vision Committee

Past service in Muskogee includes past president of Rotary International, served on the board of Muskogee Port Authority, member of the Chamber of Commerce
